Private Therapeutic School Selection

If the American public school system isn't cutting it or you live outside the United States, you are probably ready to send your child to a private therapeutic school. Most likely, you need assistance in choosing the perfect one.

Option 1: The Short List

Ilene has a researched list of schools that will support your child’s needs and family requirements.
The Short List makes it quick and easy to find the perfect therapeutic school. After an hour discussing your situation and child’s needs, Ilene will thoroughly research private schools and compile a customized list of up to five-day or boarding schools that show potential for your family.

This is an in-depth pre-screening of private therapeutic schools that takes the burden off of your shoulders.

Option 2: Private School Search

A school's website only tells you part of the story, so it's important to visit them in person for a complete picture. If you can't personally visit a school, Ilene will step in and take your place. Beyond just the school visit, her exclusive 6-step selection strategy saves you time and confusion so you can quickly find and apply to the absolute best school with confidence.

    2. Schedule Tours

Once the schools are narrowed down to the most appropriate options, Ilene schedules a personal tour with each school. These are not open houses or group tours, but one-on-one tours where she has their full attention.

  • Montview Student Union building with large windows, steps, and lamp posts, surrounded by a lawn and brick pathway under a clear sky.

    3. Take A Personal Tour

Be there without moving a muscle. Ilene will video chat* with you so you can see firsthand. She also speaks with admissions and clinical personnel on your behalf and meets with staff, therapists, and classroom teachers to get a sense of the academic and social life on campus. No stone is left unturned as she critically evaluates the school as your advocate.

  • Empty classroom with rows of desks and chairs facing a blackboard and teacher's desk, map on the wall

    4. Receive Photos & Video

Whether or not you tag along to the tour virtually, you will get photos and videos* of the school taken during Ilene’s time there. Get an inside look at classrooms, study areas, amenities, and more.

  • Five yellow star-shaped objects on a pink and blue background.

    5. Read the evaluation

Based on how well the school meets your child's needs, Ilene provides a formal evaluation with her professional opinion. You'll get a list of pros, cons and additional recommendations or advice so you can move forward confidently.
